With over than 25 years of experience in business development, specializing in business operations in addition to a large background that included retail management, sales, and team leadership in both mid and large-size organizations Mr. Houssam made all the difference in Afrah company at all levels.
Thanks to his expertise ranging from traditional showroom sales to brand management and digital marketing solutions including managing websites and social media, along with his problem solving and critical thinking skills, he showed his ability to use knowledge, facts, and data to effectively solve any kind of problems that had occurred.
He represents a key part of the management team and oversees high-level HR duties, such as attracting talent and setting training standards and hiring procedures to help promote the company culture that encourages morale and performance. Moreover, Mr. Houssam plays a major role in analyzing and improving organizational processes, and works hard to improve quality, productivity and efficiency.
As a leader, his main goal is to always know the best assets of each team member and how to bring those into play to ensure the best performance outcomes. He strongly believes that ensuring both customers and the team satisfaction is a must. He joined Afrah group in 2012 and since then he’s been in charge of providing inspired leadership for the operation in the company, which involves making important policy and strategic decisions, as well as the development and implementation of operational policies and procedures due to his deep understanding of financial management.
He has led the company’s transformation process, which has established itself today as one of the leading companies in the building retail sector in Kuwait. Since improving efficiency and brand portfolio management are the core pillars of the strategy driven by Mr. Hussam, therefore his aim is to turn Afrah into the biggest distributor and more competitive company that is capable of making the most of its integrated business model in terms of performance.
Due to his dedication and perseverance in his work, the company has rapidly expanded to add more physical stores and warehouses as well as establishing and improving its sales growth via ecommerce era and mean. Today more and more brands from around the world are desiring to be part of the Afrah’s family. Under Mr. Khalil’s guidance, the company has witnessed expanded marketing presence in the Gulf countries not only in Kuwait City, along with the diversification to the manufacturing operations.
Mr. Houssam holds a bachelor degree in Business Management, certificates in various programs ranging from technical, sales, HR and Law.
On the personal level, Mr. Houssam enjoys drawing, traveling and playing music that say a lot about him.
